GRIM CHOICES CONFRONT GOP

Dear Nikolay,

soviets did not sacrifice any of their own blood for freedom. They kept all the land they took from the Nazis. They are also responsible for the very existence of North Korea. A gift that keeps in giving.

As for the election. I Plan on voting for Fred Thompson even if my only choice is to write his name in. At least I will walk out of the voting booth feeling good on election day.

THE GOP RACE IS A MESS

I think so far so good. At least this is much better than the Dems who are down to 2 candidates before most everyone has even had a chance to vote. With one of them being Hillary.

On their side they have many people with very strong feelings already, certain that their candidate will win. The left will be already damaged well before the general election, especially if Obama loses to Clinton. She will be blamed regarless of it being her fault or not. The potention for a real party meltdown is all on the left.

On the Republican side, you have people who will hold their noses when voting other than their first choice, but they will be sure to turn up.

A SMOKER'S LAMENT

"Why then, do many of you wish to pick on smokers and take my property – my hard earned money – in the form of a monstrously discriminatory tax simply because there are more of you than there are of us?"

Actually, I am a fax of banning cigarettes. Sure they will be the paid of weeding it out of society, but give it a generation.

Short of that, you are right, the tax issue has got out of control. You just missed that you are not being singled out, they are trying to raise the taxes on everything. Have you seen the list of taxes and fees on phone bills lately? Why are people living outside of NY City's public transportation system levied with a MTA Telecom Surcharge, which goes to public transport. As it is, most of the bridge and tunnel tolls in the NY Area don;t go to bridges and tunnels, but to subsidize the busses and trains. So they pick on the car drivers. Now, they are busy piling fees and taxes into mobile phone bills because people are ditching their land lines, causing a drop in revenue. My phone company want to give me a free phone. I won't take it because even without using it, it will cost me $12 a month in taxes and fees. That's just crazy.

Then you have the taxes on gas. And they did have a drop in revenue when the prices went up and demand went down. The solution to meet the difference was to propose to raise gas taxes even more.

The whole tax and fee issue has gotten completely out of hand.

SCANDAL HYSTERIA GRIPS THE CAPITOL

Maybe the moonbats should get what they demand, the resignation of Gonzales.

Then the very first act of his replacement can be to fire all the attorneys under the premise of 'starting with a clean slate'. Then he can go and hire back the effective ones and replace the ones who are not supporting the President's agenda, and the law, as it should be.

These people think they are so smart. They should be careful about what they ask for. In this case, they are handing Bush the opportunity of a do-over.

WIRETAP JURISDICTION: WHERE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ALL ALONG? (UPDATED)

Well there is notihing there to say that they will not do warrentless wiretapping on foreign nationals. Taking that they have a list of over 100,000 suspected terrorists, the FISA Court will not be issuing that many warrants especially considering that they have issued less than 10,000 over the years that it has been in operation. However, issuing warrents for Americans on that list is probably doable, or even done.

Who knows, maybe they have done all the warrent work over this time and only now are they ready to take over without having to say, 'stop listening'.

What's next? If there is a problem with listening to communications coming across the border, then I suspect Custons has been violating our rights with warrentless searches as we return to the country. What is needed is courts at every international airport to issue warrents for Customs to search our bags, person, phone, laptop.

ALL YOUR SMOKING ARE BELONG TO US

I am one of those anti-smoking nuts, BUT these people are crazy, my problems with smoking only extend around my person. I can care less if you smoke on your property, or in your car, just don't toss the butt out the window so that it ends up on my hood behind you.

You want to smoke, fine. Just don't do it around me. And with that, I understand that I have to waive that rule if I am invited into some elses space, like their house, or to Europe.

So this happened in California. When, the resot of us are safe for now. Can we ship the rest of the loonies out there?

One thing I do not get is how all these crazy people end up elected to boards in the first place? Like the school Board in SF, to home owner boards across America.
